Role of Special Constable

 

Affiliation: NSW Police Force

 
Primary Duties:
        • Security at NSW Police Headquarters, Parliament House, Government House, and other critical sites
        • Monitoring CCTV and electronic access points
        • Acting as first contact for visitors and officers at protected venues
        • Work Conditions:
        • 12-hour rotational shifts (day/night)
        • Paid on-the-job training
        • ~5 weeks annual leave

Special Constables use a series of dedicated talkgroups on the NSW Public Safety Network (formerly GRN), which supports encrypted digital radio communications for emergency and government services.
