Parks & Wildlife Service Talk Groups

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) uses dedicated talk groups on the NSW Public Safety Network (PSN) for operational communications across parks, reserves, and conservation areas. These talk groups support ranger coordination, fire management, and public safety tasks.

Parks and Wildlife Information

These talk groups are used by NPWS staff for:

        • Park operations and ranger coordination
        • Fire and hazard reduction activities

        • Visitor safety and incident response

        • Environmental monitoring and enforcement

Some talk groups are location-specific (e.g. Darling Harbour, The Rocks), while others support broader functions like Western Sydney Parklands.

How NPWS Uses the PSN

        • Coverage: NPWS operates across more than 870 national parks and reserves in NSW.

        • Interoperability: NPWS can access shared liaison channels (ESO/GL) for multi-agency coordination during bushfires or emergencies.

        • Radio IDs: NPWS units typically use identifiable Unit IDs (UIDs) linked to vehicles, handheld radios, and control centres.
